Tanisha joined the Partnership. Accountability. Training. Hope. (PATH) program in the fall of 2023. Her resume highlighted a consistent work history, and she expressed a clear long-term goal of becoming an engineer, along with a strong interest in pursuing post-secondary education. Tanisha displayed a remarkable work ethic and brought with her a range of skills and abilities gained through prior career experiences.
During her initial meeting with her PATH case manager, Tanisha shared her vision of using the program as a steppingstone to find meaningful employment that aligned with her career aspirations. At the same time, she was managing significant personal responsibilities, including caring for her grandmother, and serving as the primary caregiver for her young son. Despite facing financial hardships, Tanisha remained positive, motivated, and determined. She attended every meeting with a smile and a willingness to take on challenges, working closely with her PATH Case Manager to establish and pursue her short and long-term goals.
To support her journey, Tanisha received a laptop and professional attire for interviews through the PATH program. Her case manager provided consistent encouragement and guidance as Tanisha navigated her career transition. Tanisha embraced Jim Rohn’s philosophy: “Either you run the day, or the day runs you.” She treated every day as an opportunity to advance her goals and fully committed to the program.
Tanisha actively participated in job readiness activities, attended PATH workshops to enhance her resume, and mastered intentional job search techniques. She also learned how to identify reputable educational and training institutions for future opportunities. Her professionalism was evident in the attire she wore to the office each week, showcasing her understanding of workplace expectations.
To further support her employment readiness, PATH helped Tanisha cover critical expenses, including her vehicle registration renewal, auto insurance payments, and necessary car repairs, ensuring she had reliable transportation to secure and maintain employment.
In February 2024, Tanisha achieved her goal and began working at Kett Engineering as an Autonomous Vehicle Operator focused on quality assurance. This position not only provided her with excellent benefits but also offered opportunities to travel with her employer, enhancing her networking, communication skills, and overall expertise in her field.
Reflecting on her time in the PATH program, Tanisha expressed gratitude for the support and resources provided, sharing that the program played a crucial role in her successful career change.
