Ethan’s Journey Toward Becoming a Master Electrician

He knew early on that college wasn’t the right fit. With a lifelong interest in tools and hands-on work, the electrical trade felt like the perfect match.

“The only challenge I faced before joining the apprenticeship program was asking myself, ‘Do I really want to go this route instead of college?’ And of course, I chose yes,” Ethan said.

Since starting his apprenticeship, Ethan has worked closely with his mentor, Mike. Mike has played a big role in Ethan’s success. He doesn’t just show how to do the work—he explains why each method matters.

“Mike has been incredibly supportive,” Ethan shared. “He always finds the most productive way to do a task and walks me through it step by step.”

The experience has helped Ethan grow beyond technical skills. Working in a team has improved his communication. He’s also developed a more creative mindset and gained confidence in using tools and equipment.

Ethan is focused on the future. He plans to earn his Journeyman Electrical License, become a foreman, and eventually return to school to become a Master Electrician.

“The experience of being an electrical apprentice is like no other—it’s the best feeling,” he said. “It’s an environment where everyone wants each other to succeed.”
