Macomb/St. Clair Michigan Works! launches health care apprenticeship initiative Macomb/St. Clair Michigan Works! will host a one-hour Employer Information Session to announce the registered apprenticeship health care expansion initiative. This event will review available grant funding as well as host representatives from key partners that will be available to discuss how to assist in building a registered apprenticeship program.
“We are so excited to expand registered health care apprenticeships in Macomb and St. Clair counties,” said Karen Helfrick, talent specialist and apprenticeship coordinator for M/SC MW!. “Employment in health care occupations is projected to grow faster than all other occupations through 2029 and a registered apprenticeship can help companies find, train, and retain these future workforces. Additionally, a registered apprenticeship can be integrated into an organization’s current training and human resource development strategy and this model is a proven method for upscaling workforces.”
Several key partners from the local community will be attending the employer information session. The Chaldean Community Foundation, MedCerts, Michigan Healthcare Academy, Workforce Intelligence Network, and Macomb Community College will be in attendance for employers to discuss registered apprenticeships.
The one-hour Employer Information Session will be held on Friday, April 8 from 10:30 a.m. to Noon at the Verkuilen Building in Clinton Township. Space for the event is limited. Interested Employers can register now or contact us for more information. Those interested in the event can register at https://msc-mw.org/events.
