Brittney is a devoted mother of two and a determined young woman who came to the PATH program at Macomb/St. Clair Michigan Works! ready to build a better future for herself and her family. She spent more than a year in the program while facing challenges that would have discouraged many people, including grief, trauma, and the daily pressures of caring for her children. Even through difficult moments, Brittney stayed committed to her goals and to creating new opportunities for her future.
Working with her PATH career planner, Brittney demonstrated resilience, dedication, and a willingness to try new things. She continued to attend appointments, complete workshops, and take steps forward, even when the road wasn’t easy. Her determination helped her make progress toward employment and long-term stability.
As part of her career preparation, Brittney completed several PATH training courses and earned certifications in CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, and IT Professional 2. Our team’s supportive services also played a key role in helping her move forward. Auto repair assistance ensured she could attend job interviews and reliably transport her children to school, reducing stress and helping her stay focused on her goals.
Brittney’s hard work opened new doors. She was offered an executive assistant position supporting the CEO of a Detroit-based tech company. Her employer has welcomed her to the team and provided opportunities to learn digital tools, connect with business leaders, and expand her professional skills.
