POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide technical support to the manufacturing floor through a variety of functions ranging from material handling to process parameter establishment, including mold set-up/ tear-down, machine preventative maintenance, start-up, and general processing.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Exercise safe work practices in accordance with Norma St. Clair standards
  • Ensure work area is safe and free of all potential safety hazards
  • Comply with QMS and EHS Standard policies and procedures
  • Ensure good housekeeping / 5S practices
  • Comply with Emergency Preparedness policies and procedures
  • Supports and promotes the company quality objectives, policies, and procedures
  • Reacts to non-conforming and out-of-control conditions by following company procedures (i.e. NCR Plan).
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Comply with all company and  corporate policies
  • Follow Code of Conduct, & Anti-Corruption Policies
  •  Practice and promote NBS tools
  • Capable of handling injection-molding job from set-up through shutdown
  • Troubleshooting process issue
  • Skilled in critical injection-molding parameters (injection pressure, injection speed, heat profiles, etc.) and how they interrelate in establishing a process that yields a consistent molded product
  • General knowledge of plastic injection molding machines and related auxiliary equipment such as robots, dryers, mold heaters, oil heaters, chillers, and any other support equipment
  • Experienced in working with injection-mold machine hydraulic systems
  • Able to provide training in operating machines in a safe manner
  •  Willing to work overtime when required and work during weekends when production is high, or schedule changes require it
  •  Analytical, well-organized, reliable, and a good work attitude
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook)
  •  Ability to read and interpret drawings and scematics

Other functions will be assigned as required

COMPETENCIES:

  • Perform mold changeover in 1 hour or less
  • Operate Hi-lo, Crane, Motorized pallet jack

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (R=Required P=Preferred)

  • High school diploma. (R)
  • Between 4 and 10 years of trade school or work experience (P)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (P)
  •  Basic computer skills (R)
  •  Ability to work in a team oriented, collaborative environment. (R)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
  • Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor
  • Exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or
  • Exert 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or
  • Exert up to 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Able to be on their feet eight to 10 hours per day

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: (Some of the following certificates, licenses, and/or registrations may be acquired through training, but the employee must be able to demonstrate the capacity to obtain these requirements when placed in this position):
• Hi-lo, Crane, Manlift, Valid Driver’s License.

VISUAL ACUITY:
Accommodation as required for reading computer screens, blueprints, and documents.

HEARING ABILITY:
Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action.
