Our apprenticeship is a 4-year program with a typical 40-hour work week plus potential overtime depending on your school schedule where you can attend school after work hours and have the opportunity to apply knowledge learned and gain hands-on experience working on tools for our customers.  You will be paired with an experienced, skilled tradesman for on-the-job training and mentorship.

We will also pay for your schooling.  You will be considered a full-time employee and eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k, profit sharing, vacation, paid holidays, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Examines blueprint of part for which template, jig, fixture, or other tooling is to be built.
  • Calculates unspecified dimensions and lays out design on assorted materials to establish and coordinate reference points and tooling holes, using measuring instruments.
  • Sets up and operates a variety of machines (lathes, Bridgeport, grinder, etc.) and shop equipment to cut, shape, and finish materials to specified dimensions.
  • Fits aligns and assembles tooling components, and measures tooling assembly for conformance to specifications, using precision measuring and checking instruments.
  • Joins assembly components, using bolts, pins, clamps, screws, rivets, or another method.
  • Grind, sand, clean, or polish objects or parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing.
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Expected to perform all physical requirements necessary for their positions. This job description may be changed to include new or different physical job duties, and demands or change existing ones as management deems necessary.
  • Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency
  • Understanding of ITAR / FOD as required for aerospace and best practices.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to read and understand prints, build sheets & find items in XYZ views
  • Ability to read micrometers, calipers, indicators & height gage
  • Understanding of trigonometry to find Sine-Cosine-Tangent of angles
  • Understand and operate proto-track, surface grinder, lathe, and Bridgeport equipment
  • Ability to build a clean and neat job
  • Ability to work with precise measurements

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Certification Requirements

  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements; therefore, the candidate must be a “US Person” as defined by 22. C.F.R. § is required.
