Job Seeker Success At The Macomb Talent Showcase

As a student at Chippewa Valley High School, David participated in the Career Technical Education program and the early college program to advance his career. David received an email about partaking in the Macomb Talent Showcase where he would attend three workshops to develop his professional presentation of himself and the chance to showcase his skills obtained through the programs. He participated in the workshops where he developed his interview skills, and resume, and learned how to display his talents for the employer event. He was also invited to attend the Industry 4.0 event through Macomb county to network and speak about his skills.

I F Metal Works is a Macomb County business that provides tooling in the automotive space as well as architectural design. Some of their most famous work can be seen at the Detroit Institute of Arts, The Edsel and Eleanor Ford House, Ford Field, and Little Caesars Arena. I F Metal Works values the opportunity to invest and train their employees and participated in the Industry 4.0 event hosted at Packard Proving Grounds where they met David. While seated at the table, each showcase participant gave an elevator speech about themselves and their skills. After the Industry 4.0 event and speaking with David at the Macomb Talent Showcase, I F Metal Works extended an offer of employment to David with the opportunity to learn and grow his skills in the engineering design field.

David is currently working at I F Metalworks, learning more about architectural manufacturing and the design-to-build process. When asked about working at I F Metal Works, “I am very happy and feel blessed to have this opportunity”. When speaking with Karen from I F Metal Works, she stated “David is working out very well and is a great asset to the team”. Due to being a participant in the Macomb Talent Showcase, David has the opportunity to advance his career and follow his dreams to become an engineer.
