- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, other Engineering, or a related discipline is required. (7 years of directly related experience /CQE will be accepted instead of a degree.)
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in an automotive supplier facility or closely related automotive manufacturing environment.
- CQE (Certified Quality Engineer or other ASQ designation) is strongly preferred. Six Sigma greenbelt or higher is a plus.
- Must have advanced skills in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Minitab; must be proficient in email and company and customer databases, websites, and other electronic mediums needed for the position.
- Must know about the quality systems required in an automotive manufacturing environment, specifically, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO14001, and various customer quality standards (GM, FCA, Ford Q1, VDA, etc.).
- Diverse knowledge of inspection control methods, gaging techniques, and documentation.
- Math skills: calculate figures and amounts using whole numbers and decimals.
- Must be able to work any shift and overtime as needed.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings to ensure the understanding of the agreed quality parameters and product-specific requirements
- Competent in quality tools, and process/production control methods such as APQP, Control Plans, FMEA, GD&T, MSA, PPAP, and SPC
- Understanding and proficiency in the use of problem-solving methodologies including but not limited to 8D, Is-Is Not, Fishbone diagram, Brainstorming and Three-legged 5 Why.
- Knowledge of Plex is a plus.
