We are currently seeking a Material Handler/Hi-Lo Driver for our St. Clair Shores, Michigan location.  The successful candidate will be responsible for physically loading and unloading parts and components to/from assembly lines and weld cells to feed the production while working within a formalized structured team.

Shift: 3rd (10 pm-6 am)

Hourly Pay: $17.80 ($18.67 @ 6 months) + $0.65 Shift Differential

 RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Physically load and unload parts to and from weld cell racks and assembly lines using a hi-lo, pallet jack, and manual labor
  • Ensure containers are properly labeled
  • Respond to visual signals from the production line, including probe lights, repair pallets and perform other activities as necessary
  • Place finished product in the proper storage location
  • Perform basic housekeeping to keep the area clean and safe
  • Various other duties as required by the department

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A high School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 quality standards and ISO14001
  • Ability to follow established procedures
  • Operate a Hi-Lo efficiently in a Manufacturing Environment
  • Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking ability
  • Prioritization skills sufficient to keep the shop floor running
  • Communication skills to communicate and interact with all levels of employees
  • Computer literacy skills include the ability to perform basic data entry and to operate visual ‘touch screen display panels
  • Math skills sufficient to perform department-related tasks are required
  • Ability to work effectively with people

Safety: Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection are required. Additional safety equipment as needed.

Work Environment:  Working environment and physical requirements of this position are those typical of a manufacturing environment.
