Job Description

Purpose

Responsible for sanding Fine Blank parts and cleaning the sanders to produce quality output.  The department is structured as a formal team and requires the ability to work within the team.  This position is open on the 1st (6 am-2 pm) & 2nd shift (2 pm-10 pm)

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
·         Sand Parts

·         Check parts and document results to verify and record quality

·         Label containers of parts and change over at end of the shift

·         Clean sanders daily, Bio Clean sanders monthly, Check PH levels weekly

·         Change belts, fill the tank with water, and clean tank when needed

·         Perform basic housekeeping to keep the area clean and safe, including scrap containers

·         Various other duties as required by the department

·         Adjust grinding components to meet specifications.

Experience

Mechanical experience is required.

 

Skills

Ability to follow established procedures

Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking ability

Knowledge of IATF16949 quality standards and ISO

Communication skills to communicate and interact with all levels of employees

Ability to work effectively with people

Computer skills and math skills sufficient to perform department-related tasks are required

 

Licensure

None

 

Safety

Safety glasses and hearing protection are required.  Other safety equipment is required on an as-needed basis

The working environment and physical requirements of this position are those typical of a manufacturing environment

 

Physical Demands

The working environment and physical requirements of this position are those typical of a manufacturing environment.  The job requires frequent visual effort, concentration, and the ability to move throughout the plant. The ability to lift 40 pounds is required.  The work requires regular standing, and moving about, and involves a variety of physical activities.
