Registered Apprenticeships

A registered apprenticeship is an industry-driven career pathway where employers develop and prepare the future workforce, and individuals can obtain paid on-the-job training (OJT), related classroom instruction (RTI), and a nationally recognized credential.

Core Components of Apprenticeship

Paid Job

Apprentices have full-time employment and earn a competitive wage from Day 1.

Education

Two types of training happen in apprenticeships: On-the-Job Learning and related Classroom Training.

Rewards for Skill Gains

Apprentices receive increases in wages as they gain higher level skills.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility

Apprenticeships provide access to career pathways and remove barriers to entering a new career industry.

Mentorship

Apprentices connect with mentor(s) in their industry who can help advance their knowledge and career.

 Credentials

Registered Apprenticeship Programs result in a nationally-recognized credential.
