“When I came into Michigan Works! 21 months ago after being separated from Macy’s due to a store closing, I had no idea what I was going to do besides collect unemployment. Christine Rinaldi (Career Planner) placed the idea of returning to school in my head and I began the journey that led me to pursuing a path that has been a joy and an adventure to me! I’ve learned many new things, met so many nice people, grown so much and been challenged and stretched in ways that I thought I never would be.
I graduated Summa Cum Laude with an Associate Degree in Applied Science in Culinary Arts. My last final exam was on Tuesday. I had an interview for a prep cook/line cook position on Thursday, with Sterling Services, a company I wanted to work for. I got the job! I was able to have a ‘working interview’ on site in Troy, and I was a good fit!
Christine, you have been a total blessing to me & I owe you a debt of gratitude. Thank you so very much for your efforts on my behalf. Words cannot express what it has meant to me.”
Renee was awarded WIOA Dislocated Worker training funds. She completed an Associate degree in Culinary Arts from Macomb Community College in December 2018.
